NC Jerk Food Festival
Vendor Rules, Regulations & Fees
Set-Up
-
Event day set-up begins at 1:30 PM and must be completed by 2:30 PM.

No exceptions.
Health, Safety & Permits (Food Vendors)

All food vendors are subject to inspection by the Durham County Health Department and must receive a temporary food permit before preparing or selling food.

Food preparation may not begin until inspection is completed and the permit is issued.

Vendors with a current mobile food truck permit are exempt from this requirement.

All food vendors must have a fire extinguisher on site.

Insurance Requirements (All Vendors)

Vendors must submit a Certificate of Liability Insurance by Monday, July 6 to CaribSplashNC@gmail.com.

Durham Central Park and CaribSplash must be listed as additional insured.
Utilities
-
No water or electricity will be provided.
-
Vendors must supply their own generators, water, and ice (if needed).
Booth Space & Setup
-
Standard booth size is 10’ x 10’.
-
Vendors may apply for multiple booth spaces.
-
All equipment, supplies, and storage must fit entirely within the assigned booth space.

Booths must be free-standing, structurally sound, and must not obstruct other vendors.
-
Nothing may be hung on trees.
-
Campers, RVs, and trailers are not permitted on site, except during load-in and load-out.
Vendor Responsibilities

Vendors must provide their own tent, tables, and chairs.

Vendors must be present and operating for the entire festival (3:00 PM – 9:00 PM).
No early breakdowns. -
Vendors are responsible for cleaning their area and removing all trash immediately following the event.

Vendors are responsible for paying all required North Carolina Department of Revenue taxes.

Proper waste disposal is required. The area will be inspected by the city before, during, and after the event.
Prohibited Items & Activities
-
No sale of alcoholic beverages.
-
No weapons or firearms.
-
No glass bottles or glass containers may be dispensed to the public.

Only items listed on the vendor agreement may be sold.

Unauthorized goods will be confiscated.

Vendor fees are non-refundable.
Rainout Policy
-
The NC Jerk Food Festival is a rain or shine event. There are no rain dates.
-
Vendors should be prepared to operate during light rain.
-
In cases of heavy rain, the Festival Committee will evaluate safety concerns including electrical hazards, logistics, vendor needs, and performer requirements when determining whether to suspend or cancel any portion of the event.

No refunds will be issued due to inclement weather or a vendor’s decision to leave before the event concludes.
Refund Policy

All vendor fees are deposited upon receipt.

Vendors who choose not to participate must notify CaribSplashNC@gmail.com in writing at least 30 days prior to the event.

No refunds will be issued within 30 days of the event.

Arts & Crafts (20’ x 10’): $200

Arts & Crafts (10’ x 10’): $100

Drinks / Smoothies / Icees: $250

Non-Profit / Informational: $75

Food Vendor: $700
Enforcement
-
Failure to comply with these rules may result in immediate removal from the venue.

Vendor fees are non-refundable in cases of removal.
Liability Waiver

CaribSplash, Durham Central Park, the City of Durham, and their associates are not responsible or liable for personal injury, loss, damage, or adversity resulting from any incident or Act of God occurring during the festival.
